All students will log their behavior each day on the calendar pages in the front of their agendas. If there is a star or even a blank space, that means your child had a good day. If there is an X or a note from the teacher, please talk with your child about the day's events.

Positive Rewards:
·Lakeside Loot Lakeside Loot is fourth grade's classroom money. When students are following the classroom rules and/or generally behaving as they should, they can be rewarded with Lakeside Loot. Students can also receive Lakeside Loot for completing all their work for the week, helping a classmate or a teacher, and going "above and beyond" in fourth grade. All Lakeside Loot is kept by the student in their bank account. Students will need to balance their accounts. Small treats and classroom supplies are available for purchase throughout the school year with auctions also taking place at special times.
· Paper Clip Chain The Paper Clip Chain rewards the whole class when everyone is on-task and following classroom rules. When this happens, our paper clip chain person adds a paper clip to a small chain of paper clips located on the top of the door. When the chain reaches the bottom of the white board, students earn an extra 15-minute recess. Yeah!
·Class Parties Students who maintain good behavior and follow classroom rules are eligible to participate in our class parties. If a student receives more than three Behavior Citations (see below) in a quarter, he or she is not eligible to attend the next class party.

*Competence The best positive consequence a student can receive for following all classroom rules and practicing good study skills is learning many new things!

When Rules Are Broken:
Unfortunately, when students are having difficulty maintaining responsible behavior and do not respond to our positive consequences, negative consequences will be used. The following steps will be taken if necessary:
·1) Verbal warning - may make note in their agenda
·2) Written warning in my records - This would also be an X in their agenda, there also may be loss of recess time or other classroom privileges
·3) Behavior Citation - If severe enough, the student will write about the events leading up to the citation and this will need to be signed by a parent - loss of a privilege related to the situation
·4) After 3 Behavior Citations, a DRC or During Recess Conference will be held with student and teacher, parents are invited to attend - loss of privileges, possible lunch detention
·5) A referral to Mrs. Rickard will be made
·In the case of an extreme behavior infraction, students will proceed directly to step 4.
